As the painting gradually builds up around the entrance of Duke of Cornwall Hotel you can start to identify the different types of stone used to create the building in its Victorian Gothic style.
To see the painting develop further come back and visit the www.maherartworks.com site, or Peter Blackler facebook page, or visit Peter Blackler Pinterest.
Gradually beginning to move across the painting, extending the area away from the main entrance to introduce the wall and pavement.
The 'first statement' of the doorway and steps creates the centre of the painting and the focal point. This foundation will allow addition detail to be added throughout the next few sessions.
Return to the site in a few days to see the next development.......
Welcome to the first news on 'Maher Artworks.com', if you have already looked at the website you hopefully will be familiar with the type of work I produce and the projects I have established. This first 'news' post relates to a painting currently under creation, 'step by step' it will afford a glimpse into how a painting is laid out and developed into the final image. The painting being shown is the next painting from 'The Plymouth Series' and features the iconic Duke of Cornwall Hotel.
To celebrate the creation of this painting I have the honour of working with the Plymouth Charity 'Jeremiah's Journey', who will be auctioning a fine art 'Artist proof' Giclee print at its Ice Ball on 3rd October 2015 at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel, Plymouth, Devon, UK.
